London based construction firm, Drive Edgware Ltd enlisted the expertise of Mid Ulster based Setanta Construction, manufacturers of bespoke timber frame homes and off-site construction specialists, to build the arched-shaped timber modules for this impactful barrel-vaulted ceiling at their clients residential site located in the heart of London.

A series of exposed birch plywood structural beams had to be constructed to run the length of the ceiling creating a tunnel-like atmosphere and giving a modern twist to a barrel-vaulted decorative ceiling at their clients luxury home.

Prefabricated arched-shaped timber modules were expertly made and assembled at our factory in Magherafelt in only a few weeks, before being transported and installed at our client’s site in London to help achieve construction speed, cost certainty and quality.

Building a barrel-vaulted ceiling on the jobsite would normally be time consuming, expensive, and not always perfect. 

Our off-site construction solution offered a faster more precise alternative, manufactured in controlled conditions and delivered ready for efficient installation on site.

A combination of technical skill and design innovation helped create a stand-out feature for this bespoke luxury property located in Marylebone, London.

This involved pre-fabricating trusses, ribs, and panels using advance cutting tools and machinery for precision and accuracy; as well as integrating high-performance elements in the design and construction process to help with the overall thermal efficiency of the building. 

Given the components for a barrel roof are large and unwieldy, detailed logistics and transportation planning was crucial. Once the barrel roof components arrived on site, assembly and installation was completed quickly by a skilled team of contractors which resulted in less disruption to the property and the surrounding area.
