Gribbin Construction was established in 1963 by Liam, Eamon and Joe Gribbin. The brothers, locally renowned for building high quality insulated homes, were considered stalwarts of timber-frame house practices within the Northern Ireland construction industry. Over the years, they successfully pathed the way forward for the next generation of Gribbin brothers, Mark and Niall, to build on their achievements of the past four decades and in 2000, they became Directors of what is now Setanta Construction. With the business growing from strength to strength they have since successfully expanded into new areas and previously untapped markets.
Modern technology and traditional craftsmanship combine for a perfect solution to the challenges faced within the industry and Setanta Construction have been at the forefront. We work with accomplished architects, quality designers, skilled and reputable tradesmen to offer bespoke building services and, if required, a complete turnkey finish. From conception to completion we ensure that every aspect of work is expertly supervised by our in-house project management team.

Private Developments In addition to custom built timber frame homes, Setanta Construction also work alongside a range of business partners and clients operating throughout Mid Ulster to build high quality timber frame and traditionally built turn key homes. Where possible, we are also committed to giving back to our local community by pursuing local procurement, creating local employment opportunities and supporting local community groups and sporting organisations.
Off-Site Solutions and modular construction is continuing to gather pace for Setanta Construction. Our building systems and streamlined processes are well suited to help you with your business goals and offsite construction venture. We're supported by a reliable team of experienced timber construction specialists and builders to help provide sustainable building methods for the future growth of our industry.
All building components are designed and constructed at our factory in Magherafelt and then delivered and installed on site as a complete unit.
Some notable projects we have been part of include the four floor extension onto Claridges Hotel, Mayfair, London and providing off site constructed components for the prestigious Richard Rogers Art Gallery, at Chateau la Coste in the South of France.
In July 2023, Setanta Construction were delighted to win the 'Commercial/Public Sector Project Award' at the Federation of Master Builder's Awards 2023 for the Art Gallery.
Modular Builds We have expanded our production to include a range of multifunctional modular builds and cottage homes. These highly insulated, airtight builds, offer a speedy and efficient solution to a high-quality build. Our in-house design team can offer a complete bespoke service, whereby modifications are possible from room extensions and layout changes.
Passive House Designers Setanta Construction are accredited Passive House Designers; this is an esteemed qualification which focuses on energy efficient construction. This certification complements Setanta’s objective of creating zero carbon rated and energy efficient homes.
As well as being certified Passive House designers, and experienced Zero Carbon house builders we also carry out individual Thermal Bridging designs perfecting the construction methods and details in order to build a more thermally efficient house. We are committed to continuous learning and development, increasing and refining our skills and abilities to improve the quality of the product and service that we provide.
We have our own dedicated in-house design team and we work alongside reliable and reputable tradesmen and sub-contractors, many of whom have been with us for most of their working lives.
